Roderick Gawthrop
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST

Roderick is a Clinical Psychologist. He completed a Bachelor of Psychology with First Class Honours at Macquarie University, before completing his Master of Clinical Psychology at Western Sydney University.
Roderick works with adults, adolescents, and children (aged 5 and older). He has experience working with individuals, couples and groups in public and private health, and university settings.
Roderick has a keen interest in anxiety and mood disorders. He has considerable experience working with individuals with neurodiversity, functional neurological disorders and older adults. Roderick also has a keen interest in issues that impact the LGBTQI+ community.
Roderick works primarily within a Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) framework. However, he also draws upon other therapeutic modalities including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema therapy, and Motivational Interviewing (MI) with a focus on creating a collaborative, empathic, and above all, safe space for change to occur.
Roderick is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA) and is also a registered WorkCover provider.
Outside of work, Roderick has a keen interest in philosophy, science and sport. In particular, Roderick enjoys tennis, and has served on the board of Australia's largest LGBTQI tennis group.
Roderick offers appointments on Fridays and Saturdays.
